I’ve been teaching in the classroom since 2006, and all but two of those years have been in middle school. I dabbled in upper elementary for a short time, but I quickly discovered that I did, in fact, have a “sweet spot,” and back to the middle grades I went – where every day is different, but every day has at least one boy jump-smacking the door frame . I love the energy my middle schoolers bring and the way it feels like magic when you find colleagues that you just gel with – the way that new ideas take on lives of their own when you’re working alongside other educators who just get you. I hope I can provide that space for you. I’m a hot mess of creativity, sarcasm, and ADHD-fueled rabbit holes, and that’s just how I like it!
